Self What it is ?
Self what it is?
Let me share a response I received on it from a well-settled woman.
"For me self is respect -
Like keeping myself equal to all other people like kid husband Or in-laws
May be u ll get this Or not but in a girl's life, they always keep others over themselves... Like first food, ll be given to kid husband in-laws then herself.
For me equal right for all as well me"
The response is a shock for me. The reason is very simple the response shows the scar that a woman is carrying on her Self and they are so deep-rooted that even a strong person like her deep inside is struggling to remove them even by achieving so much in life.
This is a reason for great concern as if we are so much entangled by such things then I should say we should forget about self.
Why I am saying this?
The reason is simple, the response of this woman is often heard which states that even those whom we look up to in the society are themselves looking or hunting or wandering for Self.
All the running and all the efforts are being directed to prove one's worth in the eyes of others.
What bad in it - you would be saying Nothing bad in this.
But these deep routed scars are overshadowing a pitfall which we often tend to overlook, that is, we are making our best efforts day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, second by second, in losing the Self rather than retaining the Self. The reason being, we are so focused on others that we have started to believe that self is attained based on their approvals, forgetting that their approval is nothing more than an illusion that is standing with shaky feet on the shaky ground of shaky education and hypocrisy.
Remember One who himself or herself is not familiar with self can never ever tell or guide you or help you to have your true Self
So, I would like to leave with food for thought, Is this the true self we must be looking for or we are still far away from understanding the Self?
As I have read somewhere self-empowerment is an inside job.
